Former Use: subject properties have historically been associated with addresses 3947 and 3961 Z Street. Aerial photographs indicate that the parcels associated with these addresses were developed sometime between 1953 and 1966. City directories for 3947 Z Street indicated that the parcel was vacant in 1975, occupied by a single-family residence from 1980 through 1984, and occupied by a Knights of Columbus in 1989. City directories for 3961 Z Street indicated that the parcel was occupied by various private residents from approximately 1938 through 1989. Sometime after 1994, the residence/structure associated with 3947 and 3961 Z Street was demolished. The property user/owner indicated that the former structure was demolished as part of a City of San Diego Fire Department training exercise in November 1999. The parcel has remained vacant since that time. The parcel located on the northwest corner of 40th Street and Alpha Street appears to have remained vacant from at least 1953 through present day.
