Former Use: The Site has a long history of industrial use. Based on a review of available historical Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps, the initial development of the Site pre-dates 1908, when Belle City Basket Company operated at the Site in 1908 until sometime after 1933. By 1950, the Site appears to be part of the foundry located on the southern adjoining property. Most recently, the Site was owned and operated by Racine Metals, LLC (a metal recycling company). In 2013 Racine Metals, LLC partially demolished the building at the Site, leaving foundation and girders protruding from the ground. The Site has been vacant since.
