The site is currently a vacant, commercial parcel of land consisting of a 0.1412 acres, identified in the City of Springfield Assessor?s Database as Map ID 010850081. Former Use: According to documents obtained online from the Hampden County Registry of Deeds, the Site was taken via tax title taking by the City of Springfield in 2007. The property was previously owned by the Cohen Bros. Inc. Historical documents, State database records and interviews with City officials have indicated that the property has remained undeveloped / vacant. These sources also identified surrounding properties, including but not limited to the Ryder property located at 220 Tapley Street, the NS Tapley Site, and the former Cohen Brothers Scrap Yard at 846 Bay Street, as having past releases of petroleum and/or hazardous substances.
