Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: JJ Koepsell Company operated at the site from 1889 through 2006. Originally a provider of vessel supplies, the company changed focus in 1913 and became a wholesale supplier and manufacturer of plumbing, heating, electrical, refrigeration and industrial equipment. In 2006, the site was sold to Mutual Realty of Wisconsin LLC. In 2013, the four-story factory building was demolished. The owner created a one acre greenspace that was marketed to commercial users. This site also consists of the adjacent former railroad right-of-way, and an adjacent vacant site. The latter was used for residential purposes or was vacant through 1903. Portions of the site continued to be used for residential purposes through the mid 1950s; however, an auto repair facility was present near the southeastern portion of the property. By 1967, the former auto repair building was being used for plumbing supplies and the remainder was used for pipe storage.
