Addl Cleanup/Treatment info: Environmental contractor Geocon Consultants, Inc facilitated the destruction and fill of monitoring wells on the site, overseen by the Siskiyou County Environmental Health inspector. A total of 75 truckloads (1,590 tons) of contaminated soil were removed over the course of six days in October 2023. Permits were obtained from state and local agencies (including the Siskiyou County Air Pollution Control District). The public was alerted to the activities via a work notice in the local newspaper and flyers posted throughout the City of Mt. Shasta, soil loading, and transportation to a contaminated soil landfill facility near Wheatland, CA.

Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The site is located west of the intersection of South Mt. Shasta Boulevard and Loveta Lane in Mt. Shasta City, California. The site consists of approximately 30 acres of property identified by Siskiyou County Assessor's Parcel Number 067-010-010. The site is in the southern portion of the City, within a commercial/residential development area. The site is currently owned by the City of Mt. Shasta and is zoned as Planned Development. Future development plans for the site include a community park, greenspace, and a hotel.
