Additional Property Attributes

In 2001, Mr. Daniel Dale Rodgers bequeathed the site to Corning Union High School District to be used as an agricultural education campus. The Corning Union High School District Board owns the site and is currently using it as an agricultural laboratory for classes (i.e. student gardens). Corning Union High School District plans to develop the site for educational use by Corning High School students and staff, as wells as interested youth organizations.

Former Use: The Site is located in an unincorporated area of Tehama County, California, approximately 1/4 mile from the southeastern city limit of Corning, California. The Site is approximately 176 acres which is defined by county roads Marguerite Avenue to the west, Loleta Avenue to the north, and South Avenue and Jewett Creek to the south. The eastern property boundary abuts other agricultural property. Access roads extend on to the Site from South Avenue, Marguerite Avenue, and from two locations on Loleta Avenue. Historically, the site included a homestead and was used for agriculture and livestock. Starting in 1955, the Daniel Rodgers Estate property (site) consisted of two west portions of the former Hoag Ranch established in 1872.
