Additional Property Attributes

Project includes substantial renovation of YWCA headquarters at 25 Sheldon to include additional programming and services for victims of domestic assault.

Former Use: Occupants included a millinery operation from at least 1914 until 1927, a dry cleaner in at least 1959, and various salons, retail stores, restaurants, and/or office tenants from at least 1931 until 1967. The occupants associated with this building from at least 1888 until 1914 could not be determined through review of historical sources; however, based upon the layout of the building during that time and the known past uses, the tenants, if any, were likely commercial in nature. A commercial building was constructed in the south-central portion of the subject property between 1906 and 1913. The commercial building was demolished by 1960. Occupants included an automotive service operation in at least 1913, an automotive battery shop (which may have included service operations) from at least 1924 until 1929, and an automotive service operation from at least 1939 until 1944. The building was reportedly vacant in at least 1934 and between 1949 until 1954. The occupants associated with this building from at least 1913 until 1924 could not be determined through review of historical sources; however, based upon the layout of the building during that time and the known past uses, the tenants, if any, were likely commercial in nature. The current building was constructed in the eastern portion of the subject property in 1921. Occupants have included the current office tenants since initial construction.
