Additional Property Attributes

The Phase 1 Environmental Assessment identified 1 REC. -Potential impact from adjacent off-property sites located along the southern property boundary (i.e., former gas station at 1024 14th St. NW, former dry cleaner at 1004 14th St. NW, former auto repair at 1126 14th St. NW). The Phase II Assessment indicated that soil on the property has not been affected by former off-site activities. Ground water below the property has been affected by concentrations of PCE slightly above UPUS, likely from off-site migration. According to the assessment, the property does not appear to pose a significant risk to human health or the environment. No further environmental assessment was recommended by the CP.

Former Use: The original North High School occupied the northeast portion of the property in 1914, prior to being razed. The current school was constructed on the northern portion of the property in 1920, with later renovations and with a northwest, three-story addition in 1960. The school complex closed at the end of 1006 and the athletic field remained active until 2013.
