Addl Cleanup/Treatment info: Midwest Environmental was contracted for the removal and disposal of five containers of hazardous waste at the site, including four metal drums and one plastic tote inside the facility. In addition to these hazardous wastes, Midwest removed a flammable cabinet inside the facility containing 20, one-gallon containers of epoxy coatings and paints. Lastly, 1-gallon containers of paint; two 5-gallon containers of paint on the floor; and two 1-gallon containers of caustic cleaning agents were also removed and disposed.

Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The Site is comprised of approximately 9.34 acres of industrial land situated south of West Laskey Road and east of Lewis Avenue, both of which provide access to and from the Site. The Site is developed with a 124,618-square foot former industrial manufacturing building and office as well as a 4,000-square foot storage building surrounded by asphalt paved parking areas. The Site building is currently and has been vacant since P & J Industries closed in 2011.

The property was purchased by JAM Best One in August 2021 with plans to renovate building. JAM will invest $4MM into property to be used as a tire retread manufacturing facility with planned job creation of 40 jobs.
