Additional Property Attributes

A new purchaser intends to renovate the current building for use as General Education Development (GED) classes and job placement for displaced or disadvantaged individuals in the community.

Former Use: One parcel containing a building that includes the main floor and basement totaling 16,350 square feet of downtown commercial space. Review of historical sources documents that the property was occupied by automobile sales and service operations from at least the early 1930s until the late 1950s. The automotive operations likely involved the use of various petroleum products such as motor oil, gasoline, diesel, and fuel oil. Given the time period of these operations, the waste management practices are unknown as they preceded major environmental regulations and procedures and therefor the potential exists for petroleum contamination to be present in association with the historical use. The applicant intends to renovate the current building for use as General Education Development (GED) classes and job placement for displaced or disadvantaged individuals in the community.
