Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The subject property consists of two parcels, one with a residential house on it (320 E. Division St.) and the other a vacant lot (316 E. Division St.). The property has mainly been residential, but the 1917 and 1928 Sanborn maps depict the 320 E. Division St. parcel as an automotive repair shop, with a 175-gallon gasoline tank also depicted. The 1946 Sanborn map indicates that the automotive repair shop was converted into an automotive painting shop. The Ishpeming Public Schools Geometry in Construction proposes to use the house as a class project, where students will apply geometry principles to renovate the current duplex into a single family home. There are also plans to construct a garage on the 316 E. Division Street parcel.
