Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The subject-property is an approximately 6-acre sub-parcel located in the southeast portion of Parcel 2. From 1942 to 1948, the 976-Acre Parcel 2 was a part of the Tonopah Army Air Field (TAAF), a Formerly Utilized Defense Site (FUDS). In 1949, Nye County was granted a patent for the land and associated infrastructure, maintaining present-day ownership. Parcel 2 has since been subdivided into smaller acreage. A 63-acre sub-parcel was leased to Nevada Refining Company in 1979. Subsequent lessees of this sub-parcel were Petro Source and Foreland Corporation. All lessee operations were confined to the northern portion of the sub-parcel and the lease is currently being renegotiated. The subject-property is an approximately 6-acre sub-parcel within this current 63-acre lease area, but outside the portion of the property that currently or historically was utilized as part of refinery operations. No activities have occurred on the 6-acre parcel since Nye County has owned the property. During the time of active TAAF operations, several buildings were located on the subject-property, including a Gun Camera Building (1802) and a Photo Lab (Building 1815).
