Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The subject property consists of 6.4 miles of an abandoned railroad with one 840-foot tunnel and several bridges. The property generally runs from north to south. The northernmost end of the property is located approximately 1,350 feet to the south of Bryant Street in Beatrice and the southernmost end of the property is located approximately 200 feet to the east-southeast of the intersection of Nettles Road and Highway 21/47 in Tunnel Springs. The railroad tracks have been removed from the property and the majority of the gravel-covered railbed of the former railroad is still visible. Robinson Creek and several of its tributaries cross over the proposed trail. Several paved and unpaved roads also cross over the property. The subject property was developed with a railroad in 1899 and went out of service in the early 1990s.
