Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The Property was developed by 1928 as a filling station, which remained in operation until at least 1949. (It is possible this business was the Pure Oil Service Station referenced in a document from 1988.) A Sinclair gas station including some motorcycle repair was reportedly operated by Neff Oil Co. of Crooksville, Ohio for approximately 30 years at the Property, using tanks and a structure that reportedly existed prior to acquisition by Neff Oil Co. The Property was converted to a Super Twist eatery in the early 1970s. The Super Twist went out of business in the late 1980s. The current owners, Jesse and Rhonda Yates, began to lease the Property in approximately 1990 and opened the Luncheon Muncheon cafe. The Yateses purchased the Property in 2002. A gasoline UST was ruptured in the front drive of the Property on October 27, 1988 during the installation of a septic tank. The ruptured UST released a red liquid with a gasoline odor believed to be a gasoline/water mixture. The construction company that punctured the tank removed some of the soil and filled the void with sand. Records do not state if the ruptured tank was removed at that time or abandoned in place. The current owners paid U.S.T. Services Company to remove a UST in July 1993. It was believed that additional USTs remained on the Property due to the presence of concrete pads with multiple fill and vent pipes at the north side of the Property. In January/February 2017, four USTs were removed from the property: 1,000-gallon kerosene, 4,000-gallon diesel, 8,000-gallon gasoline, and 550-gallon waste oil.
