Additional Property Attributes

The property consists of approximately 0.04 acres and is developed with a two-story building (north building) and a one-story building (south building). Both buildings are unoccupied. The property is situated in the Main Street downtown district of Oakland City. The buildings were observed in poor condition with partially collapsed floors and walls leaving unsafe conditions for pedestrians walking on adjacent sidewalks. The assessments conducted as part of this brownfields grant were used to aid the Owner with renovation efforts to the building components. As of September 2017, up to $10,000 of private funding has been invested in the rehabilitation of the buildings.

Former Use: The property is located in an area characterized by commercial land uses. The property consists of approximately 0.04 acres and is developed with a two-story building (north building) and a one-story building (south building). According to historical records, past uses of the property included a dentist office, a residence, a store, and a dry-cleaners. The property is currently owned by Brian Strickland since 2013. Past ownership included Michael and Brenda Briggs, Jim and Clara Dollahan, Hill Inception Products, Inc., Darrel and Florence Hill, Robert and Fern Powers, and Lee and Lola Feltner.
