Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The site appears to have been undeveloped land in 1906. The northern portion of the site was used for residential purposes from at least 1922 to 1961 (with a different structure by 1948). The southern portion of the site was in commercial use from at least 1922 (Furs and Hides store) to 1929 (unidentified store). The north-central part of the site was in commercial use in at least 1941 (Great Lakes Greyhound Lines, Inc.), and several vehicles were parked on-site in at least 1949. The current site building was constructed in 1962, occupants of which have included: Columbo�s Lounge Tavern (at least 1967 to 1972); Green�s Oasis (tavern, at least 1977); Columbo�s (at least 1992); and Variety Banquet Hall (at least 1997), with no occupant listed since at least 2001. The City of Wyandotte purchased the site from the Wayne County Treasurer in 2011 and intends to demolish the site building in preparation for the redevelopment of the site by others.
