Additional Property Attributes

On November 10, 2016, Castle Hill Associates, LLC. performed an asbestos inspection and sampling with the purpose of the inspection to identify the asbestos containing materials at the former Toledo Armory Building in Toledo, OH to comply with the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulation National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP). A total of 37 asbestos bulk samples were collected and analyzed as part of this project. All bulk sampling of suspected ACM was based upon the appearance, texture, and location of the material. The cost for asbestos abatement and universal waste disposal is estimated at $122,500.00

Former Use: Nearly the entire building was previously occupied by the United States Naval Armory from the early min-1930s to the early 1990s. The facility has remained unoccupied since the early 1990s. The building was utilized as a training facility for the naval academy as there are several classrooms and offices inside the building. In addition to the classrooms, an indoor shooting range was located near the northwest portion of the building. The building has been neglected and, at the time of the Site reconnaissance, is dilapidated.
