Additional Property Attributes

The Property is used as a recreational building and classroom as a part of the House of Neighborly Services site. The building contains one main room with tables, chairs, piano, and other furnishings; two small offices; and a bathroom. Historical records were not reasonable available to COST to identify the Property use prior to 1950, but it is likely that the Property was undeveloped desert land prior to residential development around 1950. The Property was then used as a community outreach center known as the House of Neighborly Service around 1955 through current day. The former residential-like structure was demolished around 1967 and the current building was constructed in its place. Additional small-scale construction was apparent on the Property to include a small concrete pad to the south of the building and demolition of other small structures. Adjoining sites consist mainly of residential structures to the north and the south, and structures related to the House of Neighborly Services to the east and west. These sites have historically consisted mainly of residential uses. It is likely that the adjoining sites were undeveloped desert land prior to approximately 1950. The western adjoining site was likely a part of the House of Neighborly Services complex since 1955. A roofing company existed for a short period around 1955 on the northern adjoining site and a chapel on the southern adjoining site. There was no indication of other historical commercial or industrial uses on adjoining sites.
