Additional Property Attributes

At the time of the reconnaissance, the Property consisted of approximately 0.54 acres of vacant land. The area north and west of the Property was comprised of residential homes, the area to the south was a city park, and the area to the east contained commercial developments. This assessment has revealed no evidence of recognized environmental conditions in connection with the Property except for the following: � The historic operations at the Property (Section 4.4.2). � The fire at the Property (Section 4.2.2 and 4.4.1). � The storage of unknown liquid at the Property in a drum and buckets (Sections 5.3 and 5.3.1). � The historic operations of automotive sales/repair/parts manufacturing, gasoline station, and tannery east of the Property

Former Use: The Property was developed with Bert Perry Autos at 400 and Turner Manufacturing Company Inc. (auto accessories) at 404. Turner Manufacturing included a machine shop, stock area, and office area. The Property was occupied by Northern Indiana Power Company garage and mill supplies at 400 and 402 and by Turner Manufacturing Company Inc. at 404. The Property was occupied by Washington Street Motor Sales Body Shop at 400, Coca-Cola Bottling Company at 402, and Turner Manufacturing Company Inc. at 404. By 1945, no listing was provided for 400 West Superior Street. Property was occupied by a furniture warehouse at 400 in 1948, a private garage at 402, and Turner Manufacturing Company Inc. at 404. In 1950, no City Directory listing was provided for 400, Somers Warehouse and Van Company was listed at 402 and Turner Manufacturing Company Inc. was listed at 404. The 1955 listing included Somers Warehouse and Van Company and Allied Van Lines Inc. at 400 and Turner Manufacturing at 402 to 404. The Property was occupied by Clark Oil & Refining Corp. (distributer) at 400 and Turner Manufacturing Company Inc. at 404. 402 was not listed. The Property was occupied by Turner Manufacturing Company Inc. at 400, 402, and 404 (City Directory listed only 404). The Property was occupied by Montgomery Ward at 404. 400 and 402 were not listed. The Property was occupied by Gymnastic Factory/The Kokomo Flipsters Inc. at 400 and Kokomo Tribune warehousing at 404. 402 was not listed. The Property was occupied by The Kokomo Flipsters Inc. at 400 and Herman�s Auction Service and B Basketball USA at 404. 402 was not listed. The Property was occupied by Kokomo Flipsters at 400, Timothy Kling at 404, and Steven Hearn/Hearn Construction at 406. The Property was occupied by City of First Glass at 402, Kling�s Computers at 404, and Hearn Construction Inc./Hearn Properties and Timbernest Townhouses at 406.
