Cleanup/Treatment Implemented:
Cleanup/Treatement Categories:
Addl Cleanup/Treatment info: Based on the localized area of impact and the concentrations of petroleum and lead, the City completed pilot testing in-situ chemical oxidation (ISCO) as a remedial alternative. W&B conducted baseline (pre-injection) groundwater monitoring on July 16, 2020. On July 30 and 31, 2020, W&B and the City oversaw ISCO injection of sodium persulfate by Cisco Geotechnical LLC (Cisco). Cisco advanced eight temporary injection points using direct push techniques. W&B conducted three rounds of post-pilot test groundwater monitoring and determined, through a comprehensive risk assessment, that residual impacts had been mitigated and that redevelopment of the site for residential use was appropriate without additional response actions. The Permanent Solution Statement with Conditions (no AUL) was filed with MassDEP in July 2021.
