Additional Property Attributes

The Cypress Hills Local Development Corporation (CHLDC) is negotiating with the landowner to purchase the property as part of a larger affordable housing development project after performance of a Phase I assessment. CHLDC intends to purchase this site, as well as the adjacent site at 2817 Atlantic Avenue, to develop 151 units of affordable housing and 10,300 sf of ground floor retail.

Former Use: According to historic documentation, an auto repair garage has occupied a small structure to the rear of the Site from at least 1928 to 2007. No information regarding this auto repair facility was available in the EDR database report or NYSDEC Petroleum Bulk Storage facility database. Site access was not provided for the Phase I. It is unknown what kind of operations were conducted or what kind of hazardous materials were used at the auto repair garage. Soil, groundwater, and soil vapor contamination may exist in connection with the use of the site. Based on the available historic data, and in the absence of Phase II test data, the sites historical use as an auto repair garage is therefore considered to be a REC.
