Additional Property Attributes

Additional investigation was conducted outside the cooperative agreement as the property didn't qualify for additional assessment due to ownership/operating history. Property is being redeveloped as the Rhea County Justice Center.

Former Use: The site was formerly utilized as a hospital from about 1957 to 2012. The southernmost portion of the main structure and a smaller structure on the northeast side of the property are in use as doctors offices. The remainder of the site was vacant during the Phase I ESA site reconnaissance. Rhea County purchased the site in 1955 from Arch M. Morgan Sr., Roy E. Morgan, and Lloyd A. Morgan. The Morgans owned the property by 1946. The site has documented impact to groundwater and residual soil contamination left onsite, after the removal of two onsite USTs.
