Additional Property Attributes

Site is currently under contract for adaptive reuse and redevelopment. Prospective purchaser is working with Local TDEC Division of Remediation field office.

Former Use: The subject property consists of two adjoining parcels. The historical resources reviewed indicate that the subject property was formerly occupied by the Standard Coosa Thatcher Company, a yarn manufacturing company, from 1917 until approximately 2003. The northern and southern parcels were formerly occupied by two separate companies who merged operations in the early 1920?s. After the merger of the two operations, the northern parcel was operated as the Mercerizing Plant and the southern parcel was operated as the Spinning Plant for Standard Coosa Thatcher and continued operations through at least 1950. Hamilton County and the City of Chattanooga purchased the subject property in 2016 from Watkins Street Project, LLC. All onsite buildings are currently vacant.
