The site is being assessed under the U.S.EPA Targeted Brownfields Assessment program under the START contract technical direction document 0003/S05-0003-1707-200. The site is owned by the City of Durand who acquired the property through tax delinquency in 2015. The property was previously used as a commercial storage facility, then partially for non-profit services. The property has been vacant since the city took ownership. The site is being considered for redevelopment as a brewery and distribution center.

Former Use: The city of Durand involuntarily acquired the property in 2015 through tax delinquency. The site has been vacant since the city acquired it. Based on a visual assessment of the property by city staff, there is a potential for the presence of asbestos containing materials and lead-based paint. Based on the Phase II ESA, the site meets the definition of a Facility and a Due Care Plan is required.
