An EPA Cleanup Grant application was applied for in FY2021.

Former Use: Number of Parcels and Acreage - One parcel containing 1.19 acres; Number of Building(s) and Square Footage - One single-story hospital building containing 12,408 square feet and one single-story residence/office building containing 928 square feet; Current Property Use - Unoccupied with no current operations. Standard and other historical sources were able to document that the first developed use of the subject property occurred in 1928 with the construction of the western U-shaped portion of the current hospital building, the current small structure in the southwest portion of the property which served as a nurse?s residence (later an office), two small shed-like structures, and a single car garage. Prior to 1928 the subject property was vacant land. In 1935 an addition was constructed on the eastern portion of the hospital resulting in the current E-shaped building. Between 1962 and 1972 the shed-like structures and garage were demolished. The property was occupied from 1928 until 1972 by the Afro-American Sons and Daughters Hospital. The subject property has remained unoccupied since 1973.
