Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The Site is comprised of eight (8) properties currently owned by the City of Franklin, totaling approximately 35.27 acres, abutting or in the immediate vicinity of the Winnipesaukee River. The Site properties have been developed for railroad, industrial paper production, lumber operations, and tenement housing uses since prior to 1900. As such it is likely site operations and practices have involved use and/or storage of petroleum or petroleum products. According to information provided by the City, the Site became unoccupied in the mid-twentieth century and is currently vacant. No buildings currently exist on Site properties, but foundations and other remnants of historical development are still present.
