Former Use: The site is located in Downtown Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida. The site occupies approximately 0.99-acres of commercial land comprised of three contiguous parcels. Parcel 1 is located at the physical addresses 328-340 West Ashley Street, 501-517 North Pearl Street, and 323-341 West Church Street and identified by the City of Jacksonville (COJ) Property Appraiser as Real Estate (RE) # 073847-0000. Parcel 2 is located at the physical address 317 West Church Street and identified by the COJ Property Appraiser as RE # 073847-0100. Parcel 3 is located at the physical address 316-326 West Ashley Street and identified by the COJ Property Appraiser as RE # 073851-0010. All of the parcels are developed with paved parking areas. The site is currently occupied by Pearl Street Parking and is currently a paved parking lot. the site and adjoining properties were developed prior to 1880s. From the 1880s through the 1890s the site was developed with multiple residential properties. The adjoining properties were developed with a mix of residential and commercial properties. On May 3, 1901, the Great Fire burned over, 2,400 buildings in downtown Jacksonville. The residential buildings located on the site were destroyed in the Great Fire. A majority of the adjoining residential and commercials buildings surrounding the site were also destroyed in the fire. By 1903, the site was redeveloped with three new residential buildings, a bakery, and St. Albans Boarding House/Hotel. During the 1940s, the area began transitioning into commercial properties. The commercial development expanded over the years and multiple commercial properties occupied the site until the late 1950s when all of the structures were removed from the site and replaced with paved parking areas. The site has remained paved parking areas to the present day.
