Former Use: The site consists of 7.88 acres of light industrial and commercial land located at 648 East Union Street in Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida. The site is identified by Duval County Property Appraiser as RE#122092-0000. The site is improved with seven buildings including a two-story 15,641-square foot warehouse (Building 1), a 2,040-sqaure foot warehouse (Building 2), a 5,508-square foot warehouse (Building 3), a 2,611-square foot warehouse (Building 4), a 600-square foot office (Building 5), a 2,000-sqaure foot warehouse (Building 6), and a four-story 361,169-square foot warehouse (Building 7). Additional improvements include paved parking areas and utilities. The site extends to the south to Hogan Creek. The site has been occupied by the Union Terminal Warehouse (700 E Union St.) since at least 1913 to the present. Various tenants have occupied the warehouse consisting of wholesalers, distributers, and light manufacturers such as furniture makers. The Union Terminal Warehouse was serviced by multiple rail lines on both sides of the warehouse building until they were removed sometime in the late 1970s to early 1980s. Residential homes have occupied portions of the site since the early 1900s; many of which were located along the former street Cottage Place, which previously traversed the western portion of the site. The building complex located at the northwest portion of the site (648 E Union St.) were formerly occupied by a flour wholesaler from the 1940s to 1950s, and a furniture warehouse from the 1940s to 1980s. The Arlington Expressway was constructed by 1959 and occupies the southern portion of the site.
