Property Highlights

The property is a former home for children and community service center consisting of a 99,000 square foot four-story building that was constructed in 1915. A Phase I perofrmed on the property indicated the presence of an unregistered heating oil tank in the basement. Assessment grant funds were utilized for Phase II sampling on the site. While select petroleum contaminants were identified in groundwater the concentrations below the most restrictive Residential cleanup criteria.

Former Use: The subject property is a former home for children and community service center. The current owner is Meranto Living Trust. The previous owners/operators of the property include the Diocese of Marquette, Marquette Catholic Credit Union, Bishop Baraga Association, Northern Michigan University, and the Alger-Marquette Community Action Board.
