Additional Property Attributes

Old buildings on the property and/or surrounding Saab Park properties have been demolished, and the property is being redeveloped with an ampitheater, splash pad, improved ballfields, and parking lots for better recreational facilities for the City of Canton residents.

Former Use: The subject property is currently developed with a warehouse building, which is currently used for storage of various recreational equipment (i.e. basketball goals) and decorations. The subject property was historically used as the City of Canton?s garage. Repairs of equipment and vehicles and fueling of fleet vehicles were reportedly historically performed on the subject property. Operations of the City?s garage involved the use and storage of petroleum products and potential hazardous substances such as solvents. The north adjoining property was historically and is currently operated as a park/recreational area. The south and southwest adjoining properties were historically and are currently residential. The west-northwest/northwest adjoining property was historically operated as a brickyard (with brick kilns) and warehouses and is currently improved with three vacant warehouses. The east adjoining property was historically operated as the City bath house and community pool and is currently occupied by the Madison County Health Department.
