Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: Standard and other historical sources were able to document the subject property was developed in 1921 with a portion of the current building as a four-classroom school. By 1937, a small building was constructed east of this building, which was demolished between 1963 and 1967. PM was unable to verify the use of this building, however, based on the size, layout, and documented use of the subject property as an elementary school, PM has not identified the unconfirmed use of this building as a concern. Multiple additions were constructed to the current building between 1926 and 1962, and the various recreational areas (including the current tennis court, ice rink, baseball diamond, and playground) were developed south of the building between 1974 and 2005. The subject property was occupied by a school from 1921 until 1980, was vacant from 1980 until 1985, has been occupied by a community/recreational center, library, day care, and various office activities associated with the City of Southfield since that time. The subject property is currently vacant. The property is proposed for redevelopment of affordable housing.
