Additional Property Attributes

The City acquired the site to facilitate commercial redevelopment on this site and along this major street corridor of 5th Ave S., which has been a blighted, underdeveloped area. The auto garage and sales lot building was demolished, and the property will be marketed for commercial redevelopment, once city street improvements are made in the neighboring ROW.

Former Use: The site was first developed in the late 1800s for residential, and by the mid 20th century was an automotive sales and repair business. The site had no significant improvements, and with the collection of inoperable vehicles and automotive parts, was an eyesore on the 5th Ave S corridor that the city seeks to redevelop. The City sought to acquire the site and demolish the building.
