Property Highlights

After completing AAI, the City took title in March of 2017, and ACM was abated with a 128(a) subgrant. The City invested more than $25K in June of 2017 for further physical cleanup and renovation to make the building ready for reuse. Final renovations, nor a tenant or resale, have yet occurred as of July 2018.

Former Use: This site is a commercial building, built circa 1900. It had been a restaurant since approximately 2002. In January of 2016 the owner set a fire as part of an insurance claim scheme; through an Alford plea he was convicted of arson. As the site sat vacant with extensive fire damage, and with concern about the potential release of ACM within the debris and damaged building envelope, the City took title through a donation of the property, after having conducted AAI prior to taking title.
