Additional Property Attributes

Site was used as receiving ground for local and state during construction projects, as such there's regulated waste (EPH over 100 mg/kg; state special waste threshold) onsite. Additional assessment was completed by the City of Etowah. They are working with the local development district for a cleanup strategy and funding resources. They have an end user that would like to develop a residential neighborhood once clean up is complete.

Former Use: Based on sources reviewed as part of this Phase I ESA, the subject property has been used by the City of Etowah since at least 2008 for the placement of brush, concrete, asphalt, soil, and miscellaneous building materials. Prior to that property was used by TDOT during road widening project. These materials were observed in piles and/or fill at the site during our site reconnaissance. The origin and quantities of these materials could not be determined. F.M. Cantrell and M.P. Cantrell acquired the property from H.E. Kinder in 1942. City of Etowah (current owner) acquired the property in 1990 from Franklin M. Cantrell Jr., Robert W. Cantrell, Nancy Cantrell Dender, Carol E. Cantrell, and Mintie C Wilson.
