Additional Property Attributes

The site is currently a vacant lot located on the southwest corner of the intersection of Marysville Boulevard and Grand Avenue. The site is designated by Sacramento County Assessor's Parcel Number (APN) 251-0122-002 and is bound to the north by Grand Avenue, to the east by Marysville Boulevard, to the west by a restaurant and recycling drop-off center (1560 Grand Avenue), and to the south by a commercial building (3725 Marysville Boulevard). The site is enclosed with a chain link fence on the north and east side, a metal fence on the south side, and adjacent property buildings on the west side.

The site was previously utilized as a gasoline service station since at least the early 1950's and consisted of underground storage tanks (USTs), fuel dispenser islands, associated fuel infrastructure and piping, and an approximate 1,200 square-foot building. The building, asphalt surface, and other site features were demolished and removed from the site in May 2005. Shortly thereafter, the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency (SHRA) acquired the site from the private property owner. Prior to 1992, the site may have been occupied by a Regal gasoline service station and before that a Rocket gasoline service station. The original site buildings and USTs were likely constructed and installed at the site during
or prior to the early-1950's.

The site was an opened as environmental case with the Sacramento County Environmental Management Department Local Oversight Program (SCEMD-LOP) in 1999 due to the discovery of a leaking UST. At the time, the primary constituents of concern were petroleum hydrocarbons. From 2006 to 2009, a soil vapor extraction system operated at the site. In July 2014, the site received case closure with SCEMD-LOP in regards to petroleum hydrocarbon contamination. The site was then transferred to the California State Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) due to the presence of groundwater contaminated with tetrachloroethylene (PCE). The site is currently under CVRWQCB regulatory oversight and can be located on the State Water Resource Control Board's GeoTracker website (ID: T10000012828).
