Additional Property Attributes

At the time of the reconnaissance, the Property consisted of approximately 0.12 acres of land developed with an approximately 9,360 square-foot, vacant two-story commercial building. The northern portion of the Property was developed with a gravel parking lot. Interior portions of the building had collapsed and were in poor condition. The areas surrounding the Property consist of commercial developments. The Property is not currently serviced by utilities; however, surrounding sites are serviced by the City of Linton Utilities Department for electrical service, natural gas, water, sanitary sewers and storm water sewers. Storm water in the area infiltrates into the ground surface or flows overland to adjoining roadways.

Former Use: From 1904 to 1955, the Property appeared developed as a two-story commercial building with a common central wall that separates the interior portions. From 1904 to 1948, the Property was utilized as a saloon, wholesale liquors, clubroom, drug store, gas office, lodge, ?soft drinks?, and a pool hall. In 1948, the building was labeled as ?fire ruins? and in 1955, the building was labeled as ?lodge hall.?
A Project Manual and Specifications Asbestos Abatement was completed for the Property under the supervision of a Project Designer accredited by the Indiana Department of Environmental Management under the requirements of Section 206 of the Toxic Substances Control Act and constitutes an asbestos abatement design as part of the clean up planning.
