Additional Property Attributes

The McGuire Motel has been vacant and unused in Harlem, Montana ,for many years, possibly up to 10 years. A local developer is seeking to purchase the property, renovate it, and reopen it as a motel. This site is located directly on Highway 2 in Harlem and is one of the first buildings visible when entering Harlem from the west on Hwy 2. The building is currently abandoned and does not provide a welcome sight to the town. If the motel was renovated and brought back into commercial use, it would not only remove blight from a very visible section of town, but it would also create economic growth and add jobs to the Harlem community. In order to facilitate the sale of the property to the developer, the current landowner conducted a Phase II BMI report to identify any potential abatement needed and to estimate the costs of the abatement.

Former Use: The building was constructed in 1977, and there is also a small utility building on the site that was constructed in 1920. The building operated as a motel until the late 2000s and has sat vacant since then.
