Terracon recommends the top 0.5 feet of soil be excavated and disposed of at an appropriately licensed landfill in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations. Terracon recommends approximately two cubic yards of soil be removed from the site. Prior to disposal an additional sample may need to be collected from the excavated soil and analyzed based on selected landfill requirements.

Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The Site consisted of approximately 0.6 acres of land and was located at 310 East 35th Street. The Site was generally flat, and rocks were placed throughout the Site. A circular outline was observed in the southern portion along the western boundary of the Site. Mr. Brian Hedlund, the Site Owner, indicated the outline represented the location of a former cesspool. Along the eastern boundary, Mr. Hedlund also indicated he had observed paint and stucco material runoff from the eastern adjoining property, a single-family residence. Two former fence poles were observed along the eastern boundary. Three pole mounted transformers were located in the alley near the southeastern corner of the Site. Former Use: The Site was approximately 0.46 acres of vacant land. The Site was generally flat, and rocks were placed to outline an unpaved driveway in the western portion and were placed throughout the Site. An electrical meter, electrical box, and concrete-lined utilities vault were located in the southwest corner of the Site. A concrete debris pile was located along the southern portion of the western boundary of the Site. An irrigation pipe was observed in a planter box located in the northwestern portion of the Site. Multiple shapes were drawn in the soil in the northeast portion of the Site, which, according to Mr. Brian Hedlund, the Site owner, represented the former locations of the apartment building and basement stairs, the wash house, and two cesspools. Three pole-mounted transformers were located in the alley near the southeast corner of the Site. Two electrical boxes and a pad-mounted transformer was located near the southwest corner of the Site along South 4th Avenue.
