Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The property located at 10 Church Place includes two buildings on a small .13-acre lot. The Town was saddled with this property when it was abandoned by the former owner who then filed bankruptcy. It then burned in March 2017 through suspected arson and came under Town ownership by tax deed in October 2017. K-D Associates conducted an asbestos inspection at 10 Church Place and identified the presence of asbestos in the interior and exterior parts of the building. The building is neither structurally sound nor fully accessible, the full extent of asbestos in this building remains an unknown in those areas specifically destroyed by the fire and firefighting related activities. The Town of Rockingham is creating a buildable site capable of supporting re-development. There is currently no end user, unfortunately interested parties have emphatically stated they have no interest in 10 Church Place or the adjacent properties until such time as site remediation is complete. The scale of redevelopment remains unknown, but the current inquiries are: ? Convert 10 Church Place into high density residential family apartments ? Develop a school parking and storage area for the adjacent elementary school ? Redevelop the property for a single-family home
