Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: Parcel 1, the northernmost parcel, was platted as three contiguous parcels and occupied by two two-story residential dwellings by 1892. Parcel 1 continued being residentially developed until the later portion of the 20th Century, when Parcel 1 was utilized for industrial purposes by the �Beatrice Dairy Products, Inc.�. Parcel 2, the southern parcel within the Property boundary, was platted as two contiguous parcels and occupied by a cigar factory by 1892. The parcel was redeveloped for industrial/residential mixed-use and occupied by the �Kankakee Ice Cream Co� factory and a large two-story residential building by 1914. By the later portion of the 20th century, Parcel 2 was then also acquired by �Beatrice Dairy Products, Inc.� A 3,000-gallon diesel fuel UST and a 6,000-gallon kerosene (fuel oil) UST were removed from the Site in September 1991. All former Site buildings have been demolished. The Property surface consists of cracked asphalt and concrete, vegetation and scattered building debris.
