Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: primarily grassy land developed with a wharf. A mobile project trailer is present on the northwestern portion of the site with multiple storage containers occupied by The New Orleans Steamboat Company. As of march 2019 the site was primarily unoccupied, but it is partially occupied on the Northwestern portion by The New Orleans Steamboat Company temporarily in order to conduct renovations on a riverboat that is docked at the wharf and has been there since february 2017. the site appears to have been wetlands from at least 1891 to at least 1910, developed and vegetated land from at least 1936 to at least 1938, developed with a road on the eastern portion from at least 1951 to at least 1953, developed with five structures, multiple roads, and a storage yard from at least 1965 to at least 2010, developed with railroad tracks transecting the site from 1979 to at least 1994, and cleared of the structures and storage yard since at least 2017. Morrison Yard Shops and Storerooms listed at the site from at least 1983 to at least 1988. Previous buildings contained lead and asbestos. The buildings were abated before being demolished. The site was also used as a maintenance yard and storm debris staging area. The site also had USTs at one time. Two of the USTs were removed with LDEQ oversight in 1996. There is a 3rd UST.
