Additional Property Attributes

The site is improved with one commercial warehouse building (~1,800 square feet) and railroad tracks, residential properties, and Rural Street, border the northern, southern, and eastern boundaries of the Site. A vacant commercial lot is located directly west of the Site. Shepherds Warehouse, a former industrial facility, is located east of the Site, beyond Rural Street and the offsite industrial facility has a documented environmental release effecting soil, water, and sub-slab vapor/indoor air. The Site operational history includes occupancy by a lumber yard (W.C. Borcherding Co. Lumber Yard) from at least 1919 through at least 1969 (based upon historical Sanborn Maps and/or City Directories). The former structures associated with the lumber yard appear to have been removed by 1972 and the Site appears to have remained vacant until sometime between 1986 and 1991 (first year the current structure appears in an aerial photograph). The exact usage of the Site after the lumber yard operations ceased is not currently known, but the warehouse located onsite is reportedly currently being leased out to a local restaurant for storage of equipment/supplies.
