Additional Property Attributes

At the time of the reconnaissance, the Property consisted of approximately 80-acres of agricultural land with a tree-lined creek on the northern portion. The areas north, east, and south of the Property consisted of agricultural land and scattered single-family homes. The area west of the Property was primarily agricultural with commercial development present adjoining the southwest corner of the Property. The Property has been agricultural land from at least 1940 to the present.

Former Use: The Property was agricultural land from at least 1940 to the present. The tree-lined Lake Branch Creek crossed the northern portion of the Property. The surrounding area was agricultural land with a few homesteads present along West US Highway 36. A grain elevator was present approximately 800 feet west of the Property near the intersection of the railroad tracks and West US Highway 36. By the mid-1970s, two commercial buildings were developed near the southwest corner of the Property along West US Highway 36. The Property had been developed for agricultural purposes by the time of the earliest available records, so we were not able to determine the first developed use. This is data failure for this Phase I ESA. In addition, data failure was noted between the years 1940 to 1947, 1952 to 1960, 1960 to 1976, 1983 to 1992, and 1992 to 1998; however, the usage did not appear to change across these periods; therefore, the data failures do not represent a significant data gap.
