Formerly the Ocala Lumber yard

Former Use: The ACRES site consists of approximately 9.26 acres of densely forested land located at 1720 NW 4th Avenue in Ocala, Marion County, Florida. The site is identified by Marion County Property Appraiser Parcel No. 25448-000-01. The site is currently wooded, vacant land that is divided by an unpaved road, NW 15th Place. The site consists of forested land divided by NW 15th Place. There is refuse littered along the sides of NW 15th Place; however, this is considered a negligible condition. Several pole-mounted transformers were observed in good condition surrounding the property. RECs were not identified during the site reconnaissance. Historical sources reviewed as part of this assessment indicate the site has been vacant from 1940 to 1949. By 1949, four buildings had been constructed. A fifth building was identified in 1973 but removed by 1983. The site owner, Charles Fairbanks, reported that the site had several residential dwellings and was formerly used by the Ocala Lumber Sales Company. All the buildings were removed by 1995. The site remained vacant until pine trees were planted by 2010.
