Additional Property Attributes

Findings from the June 27, 2019 Phase I Environmental Site Assessment found that in June 1988, a 280-gallon underground storage tank (UST) was reported for the Reseda Park Maintenance Yard. The UST was a single-walled, carbon steel, unlined tank that stored unleaded motor fuel. The UST and associated dispenser and island were likely removed, based on an approved grading permit issued on February 5, 1997 and SCAQMD records indicating that the UST was removed (see Sections 5.4.3 and 5.4.4). The grading permit indicated that the LADPR was the owner of the UST and Fire Department Permit #4972 was issued for the work. The grading permit noted that the proposed UST limits of the excavation were 7 feet by 6 feet by 7 feet deep. However, no additional information regarding the removal/closure of the UST and associated dispenser and island or subsurface sampling of soil and/or groundwater at the UST site was available for review and thus the UST was considered both a recognized environmental condition and data gap.

Former Use: The site was undeveloped land, agricultural fields, and the Los Angeles River in 1928. By 1938, Reseda Park, Reseda Lake, and the Reseda Park Maintenance Yard had been developed. By 1952, the ONE Generation Senior Enrichment Center (18255 Victory Blvd) had been developed on the southeastern corner of the parcel. In June 1988, a 280-gallon UST was reported for the Reseda Park Maintenance Yard. However, no additional information regarding the removal/closure of the UST and associated dispenser and island or subsurface sampling of soil and/or groundwater at the UST site was available for review and thus the UST was considered both a REC and a data gap.
