Additional Property Attributes

The 0.55-acre Property is located on Commercial Street SE approximately 1.5 miles south of downtown Salem, Oregon. The Property is occupied by a 3,174-square-foot restaurant building and asphalt-paved parking areas and driveways. Commercial Street SE is located along the western Property boundary. Retail development is present to the north, east, and south.

Former Use: Historical records indicate that the Property was in residential use by the 1930s and continued in residential use until it was developed with a retail gasoline service station in the 1950s. A restaurant was also present in the southern area of the Property from the 1960s through the 1970s. By 1980, the gasoline service station and previous restaurant were replaced by the present-day restaurant building and paved parking areas and driveways. Historical use of the property as a retail gasoline service station and the documented release of petroleum to soil represents a REC and a VEC for the Property. Also, DEQ records indicate that the southwest corner of the Property may have been impacted by a release from an offsite retail gasoline service station located across Commercial Street SE.
