Additional Property Attributes

Site developed in 1888. It has been occupied by The Butler Company: windmill manufacturer and later parts distributor. A fire destroyed site buildings in March 2015.

Vacant site with several razed buildings and partially standing buildings. Ground surface is covered with building debris of bricks and wood. Site is accessed via S. Broadway Street and E. Willow Street. Soil borings, temporary wells, asbestos, lead paint, and chemical inventory completed on the site.

Former Use: Vacant with building debris piles and partially standing buildings. Fire destroyed site buildings in 2015 of former windmill factory.

It is anticipated the cleanup will help revitalize approximately 3.55 acres of blighted property. The grant funding will be used to finance environmental cleanup including asbestos abatement and chemical container removal and disposal.
