Additional Property Attributes

Auto repair and painting on-site for over 40 years along with petroleum and potentially hazardous materials used on nearby properties. Phase II results showed levels of arsenic, lead, and vanadium in soil at levels consistent with urban soil. VOCs and SVOCs detected in groundwater at levels below MCLs and tap water RSLs. Former Use: Used as an ice house 1889-1902. Vacant and part of adjacent Garland Hotel property 1907-1926. Boston Motor Co., automotive sales, repair, and painting 1929-1970. On-site buildings demolished in 1974. Vacant since and currently used as a municipal parking lot. Owned by Town of South Boston since 2012.
