Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: Property was developed in 1910 as offices for the City of Fairmont operations, including the city departments, municipal court, police, and fire station. City operations were moved in the 1990's and the building has been unoccupied and used for storage since. The last City operations in the building moved out in 2004. Phase I ESA completed in November 2019, and a Limited Phase II ESA completed June 2020. Asbestos-containing materials and lead-based paint identified in the building that require remediation as part of any building renovation activities. Updated Phase I ESA performed August 2024. ACM and LBP were again identified as contaminants. In addition, the requirement to review potential for vapor encroachment under current ASTM standards identified multiple nearby properties that could be sources of vapor intrusion. In October 2024, a Hazardous Materials Removal Plan was finalized to assist the City with identifying building areas requiring cleanup; estimated costs; and bid specifications for going out to bid to remove the materials.
