Additional Property Attributes

The site is owned by the Land Reutilization Authority (LRA). A local business owner was interested in the site, but has since lost interest. The Phase I and Phase II completed on the site revealed low levels of lead, arsenic, and TPH-DRO at the site. The only contaminants to be found above RBTLS was arsenic in the soils. Site is contracted for a risk assessment and possible additional characterization to fully delineate, but is on hold until additional funds/interested party can be found.

Former Use: Standard historical sources have revealed that the subject property appears to have been used as an oil storage facility from the early 1950s through the early 1990s. Specifically, two oil ASTs were present on site, and an additional six ASTs were present on adjoining property to the west through the early 1980s, at which time two of the tanks were removed. The final four tanks on adjoining property to the west were removed in the early 1990s. Adjoining property to the west was also developed with two underground oil storage tanks and a pump house in the early 1930s. One facility to the southwest was developed with a coal storage area; it is presumed that other facilities in the surrounding area also historically used coal as fuel. The earliest record of development for the subject property was 1931 (Sanborn Fire Insurance Map), when it appeared to be developed with two railroad spurs, one crossing through the southern portion of the site, and one crossing through roughly the center of the site. The property was acquired by the Land Reutilization Authority (LRA) in 2010 and is currently an undeveloped lot.
